San Francisco Marathon Race Recaps
Ah San Francisco, the city by the bay, hosts a marathon in June (or July in 2014) that hits all the good spots around the city, including an out and back on the Golden Gate Bridge. Although not a Rock and Roll event, they do have entertainment along the way – bands, DJs, choirs – so if the scenery doesn’t do it for you, maybe the tunes will. And if that’s not enough, they also have 2 different half marathon courses (yes 2), to go along with the marathon course. In fact, if you run both half courses in back to back years, you qualify for a special medal. Cool! This seems to be a popular run, as evidenced by all the runners who wrote about their experiences.
Angela at http://www.solesisterontherun.com ran both the 2012 AND 2013 Half marathons, but did the 2 different courses so she could get her special medal. And not only did she run this race, but Angela overcame her fear of running over bridges. She also includes pictures of her multiple medals! The blogger over at http://pavementrunner.com ran the 2013 Marathon in San Fran, and he also happens to be a SFM Ambassador, so he knows his way around this race. He does a great job of chronicling every mile, and describing the course first hand. He includes some great pics, and even had time to pose for a picture with his daughter mid-race. Oh, and check out his pre-race dinner treat 🙂 http://pavementrunner.com/sfm2013-recap/
Chris at http://www.marathonliving.com is also a SFM Ambassador, and describes his role as an Ambassador at the Expo. He includes many pics of the Expo, so you get a good feel for what its like. He also ran a PR for this race, and took a cute pic with his son at the finish line. Check it out here: http://www.marathonliving.com/2013/06/race-recap-2013-wipro-san-francisco.html
